MicroPen™

What Is Automated Micro-Needling?

Automated Micro-Needling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy or CIT) is a new innovation in aesthetic medicine for treating the appearance of fine lines, acne scars and improvement of the skin’s overall appearance.
During this procedure, tiny needles are used to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin in order to produce collagen and elastin. The skin’s repair process results in improvement of the appearance of softer wrinkles.
Automated micro-needling also creates superficial micro-channels which can be used with topical gels, creams and serums to help improve the appearance of the skin.
Eclipse MicroPen™ is the most advanced medical-grade automated micro-needling device on the market. Look for an Eclipse MicroPen™ professional in your area now.

What Are The Benefits?

The benefits of micro-needling are a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, younger-looking skin with fewer signs of aging.
Eclipse MicroPen™ also has a positive effect on hyper-pigmentation as well as on hypo-pigmentation, acne scars, traumatic scars and stretch marks and generally creates a fresher appearance or glow to the skin.

What Areas Of The Body Can I Treat?

Eclipse MicroPen™ can be used on all parts of the body; Face, neck, décolleté, arms, hands, legs, abdomen and back.

How Is The Procedure Done?

A sterile needle-tip containing 12 tiny micro-needles is attached to the Eclipse MicroPen™.
Your skincare professional will apply a thin layer of topical gel to your skin and select the appropriate setting based on your unique needs.
Next, in a single motion, the pen will be gently pressed against the skin while simultaneously gliding in one direction until the entire treatment area has been covered.

What Does It Feel Like?

The feeling associated with the Eclipse MicroPen™ is similar to light sandpaper being moved across the skin.
While some areas are more sensitive than others, the speed of the reciprocating needle tip reduces discomfort while the applied hydrating gel also makes the treatment more tolerable.

How Long Does The Procedure Take?

The procedure takes 15-30 minutes depending on the size of the area treated.

What Is The Downtime?

Immediately after the treatment you will notice a bright redness to the skin.
The total healing time depends on the Eclipse MicroPen™ setting used and the number of overlapping passes your skincare professional performs. On average, patients are red up to 2 to 4 days. Many patients heal completely in as little as 24 hours.Utilizing  quality skincare products, provided by your skincare provider, can help to speed up the healing process.

When Will I See The Results?

Patients notice an immediate “glow” to their skin. Visible changes to the skin develop over the course of several days and weeks. Results continue to improve up to 6 months after the treatment as collagen production continues.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Some patients only require a single treatment, once per year to achieve optimal results. However, it is recommended for most patients to receive a series of 2-3 treatments spaced about 6-8 weeks apart.
For patients with deep wrinkles, advanced photo-aging, stretch marks or acne scars it is recommended to receive 6-8 sessions at 6 week intervals.

Humidifiers for dry skin........

Usually we reach for a humidifier when we are sick and cant breathe, but a humidifier can be a
major skin beauty benefit! Think of areas of the world where the climate is very humid such as Miami Florida ( hint: ever heard the phrase "Miami glow!") These radiating dewy complexions are the by product of humidity and added moisture in the air. The best place to keep one is in your bedroom near where you sleep and turn it on low before you go to bed...when morning comes your skin will look as if it were guzzling glasses of water all night long!

SKIN HYPERPIGMENTATION....NO NEED TO WORRY

Cosmelan®  .........
Pigmentation, Melasma and Brown Spot Treatment
Cosmelan has become the treatment of choice for melasma and especially for sensitive skin types prone to hyperpigmentation from sun exposure, heat or blemishes.
Pigmentation is color in your skin produced by melanin, the natural pigment that also determines eye and hair color. However, if too much melanin is produced in one area, the result is a brown patch on your skin.

Cosmelan's blend of ingredients work very quickly, resulting in a fast and effective elimination of undesirable pigment and works extremely well even on Asian or Latin skin types.

Cosmelan® Depigmentation treatment action mechanism is based on the inhibition of tyrosinase, a basic enzyme in the melanin formation process. Several of the substances present in the Cosmelan formula act by blocking this enzyme. Consistent use of treatment products and appropriate sunblocks for your skin type are critical in maintaining more evenly toned skin. With repeated sun exposure, you may need a booster treatment at various intervals.

MUST HAVE ANTI-AGING INGREDIENTS

RETINOL
BEST FOR FIGHTING ACNE + WRINKLES

Retinol packs a one-two punch: It helps to fight hormonally induced acne
while also improving the the skin's texture by encouraging cell turnover at a faster rate than normal.

HYALURONIC ACID
BEST FOR HYDRATING THE SKIN

For a quick fix, moisturizers or serums containing hyaluronic acid are ideal for those who are experiencing dry and dehydrated skin. Hyaluronic acid replenishes the skin's moisture reservoir. When injected into the skin, hyaluronic acid not only adds moisture but also plumps up areas that have lost volume.

GROWTH FACTORS
BEST FOR REPAIRING DAMAGED SKIN

Growth factors are proteins that speed up wound healing and are critical in skin repair and remodeling. They help to target skin that has been damaged by the sun and becomes even more essential as we get older.

PEPTIDES
BEST FOR STIMULATING COLLAGEN PRODUCTION

A popular ingredient in skin care today, peptides send signals to the skin to speed up the production of collagen for healthier, smoother skin. Since they are so small, peptides can easily penetrate deep within the skin.

Skin raw, dry, and lifeless from to much exfoliation..........why??

Over exfoliation can occur if you aren’t careful with your skin care routine.  The symptoms include redness, itchiness, and irritation.  In extreme cases, over exfoliating can result in burns and scarring.  Most people who run into this problem have used too strong a product without giving their skin time to adjust to the acidity of it. It’s also a result of using too many exfoliating products in your regimen.

If you over exfoliate, let the skin heal naturally and don’t use any form of exfoliation until it has completely healed.  You may want to use natural skin care products with soothing botanical ingredients, like aloe and chamomile. If your skin is peeling, let it slough off naturally.  Do not pick at the flakes. You will also need to use sun protection consistantly and avoid sun exposure when possible. Be sure to use sunblock daily even if it is cloudy or you are only going to and from the car. Over exfoliated skin is more prone to sun burning and discoloration than normal skin.

You can avoid over exfoliating by introducing new processes and products into your routine slowly.  There are two main types of exfoliation, a process that removes dead and sometimes live skin cells in order to expose healthier skin.  Manual or mechanical exfoliation uses an abrasive exfoliator to polish away old skin.  A microdermabrasion treatment  or facial scrub is common way to mechanically exfoliate.  Most people don’t run into serious side effects with this type.  Chemical exfoliation uses a chemical, typically an alpha hydroxy acid, to dissolve both dead and live skin.  There is a wide range of products that exfoliate chemically, from mild glycolic acid lotions to strong chemical peels.  You are more likely to over exfoliate
using this form.

Be careful when using multiple products or treatments that exfoliate. Vitamin C serums and retinol serums have an exfoliating effect, and can cause irritation if used soon after a chemical peel or microdermabrasion treatment.  Don’t be unrealistic with your skin care goals and expect full results quickly.  You get the best results from exfoliation by using it consistently over time. You can’t rush the process of restructuring the skin matrix.  Being too aggressive is very likely to lead to over exfoliation
